Lane closures on State Route 73 scheduled from Nov. 5 – 29 for pavement preservation work

Drivers who use State Route 73 between the junction with US 60 and Cedar Creek should plan for lane closures and possible delays from Monday, Nov. 5, through Thursday, Nov. 29, while scheduled pavement preservation work is underway.
The work is slated to occur Mondays through Thursdays, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. along a 13-mile stretch of SR 73 from milepost 310 to 323 on the White Mountain Apache Reservation.
North- and southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane of alternating travel while the maintenance work is done in 1- to 2-mile segments at a time. This will enable crews to reopen sections of SR 73 as they complete the work and move on to other parts of the roadway.
A pilot car and flaggers will be used to direct traffic within the work zone.
Drivers should obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices, and use caution around on-site personnel and equipment in work zones.
