SHOW LOW RECEIVES RECOGNITION FOR E-WASTE RECYCLING

The City of Show Low received a “Recycling Excellence Special Recognition” award for the electronic waste collection program from the Arizona Recycling Coalition at its annual conference in Phoenix on October 18. Business Development Coordinator Steve North accepted the award for the city.
Show Low was recognized for coordinating the annual regional e-waste collection event for ten consecutive years. The program, jointly sponsored by the City of Show Low, Town of Pinetop-Lakeside and Navajo County, is among the most successful programs of its kind in the state. Over the past ten years, more than 601,000 pounds of electronic waste have been collected and diverted from the landfill for recycling.
The Arizona Recycling Coalition is a membership-based, nonprofit organization based in Phoenix that is dedicated to promoting waste reuse, reduction and recycling throughout Arizona and the southwestern United States.
