On Saturday, November 2nd around 3pm, Deputies investigated a two-vehicle fatal collision on Bourdon Ranch Rd. in White Mtn Lake. Both vehicles involved were travelling north on Bourdon Ranch Rd when the lead vehicle stopped to turn west onto Roundup Drive when the vehicle travelling behind failed to stop.
A juvenile child, three years. of age, who was seated in the rear of the front vehicle was secured in child restraints, sustained life ending injuries and was pronounced deceased at Summit Hospital in Show Low, AZ.
This collision is still under investigation by the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office Detectives. Investigators will continue to gather facts of the collision by gathering data from vehicles “Event Data Recorders” by order of search warrants along with other measures. Both drivers are cooperating with investigators at this time. Impairment did not appear to be factor at the scene but are still awaiting blood results.

Every life is precious and to lose one that may have been avoided is a tragic reminder to drive with care and to limit distractions.
